TUPELO Social Work Conference - RPS Continuing Ed

Traditional talk therapy is just one tool in the clinician's toolkit. Healing Beyond the Couch: Integrative and Nontraditional Approaches in Social Work is a one-day conference that invites social workers, counselors, nonprofit leaders, and students to step beyond conventional approaches and discover evidence-informed, whole-person strategies that meet clients where they are — in body, mind, and community.

From somatic and movement-based interventions to mindfulness, expressive arts, breathwork, and nature-based therapies, attendees will explore how integrative modalities can complement clinical practice — all grounded in research, ethics, and cultural responsiveness. Sessions also address the structural and social factors shaping client well-being, including trauma, reentry, immigration, and the growing role of technology in care.
